  Went on the 30 minute canal boat trip into Standedge Tunnel. It wasn't clear where to buy tickets (you get them in the cafe and have to queue with all the customers) but they are good value at £5.50 each. The trip was interesting and informative, and the guide was amusing. There is an exhibition where you can learn more about the canal, a cafe and two children 's play areas. Also walks and wildlife areas around the canal. Worth a visit.

  I am a teacher and I led a field trip of two classes here. The group ran a special day for us where we did three activities instead of two. Our two classes were split into three groups and they each got to ride on the boat that goes into the tunnel, go for a nature walk and learn about the history of the canals. The ladies who ran it were all volunteers too and they couldn't have been nicer!
