- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆2017-07-23, by Debbie SmithOrdered a new Kitchen from Wickes in December 2017 to be fitted on January 29th 2018 (5 day fit) The only good thing to say is the products are excellent, hence the one star rating. Everything else has been a nightmare. 3 cupboard doors were damaged so had to order more. Spoke to customer services who said they were sending 3 out (3-5 days) - only 2 came so had to wait another 3-5 days for 3rd one to come. Handles came wrong so had to order more was told 3-5 days actually took 14 days (14 days without handles on any cupboard is not good) I then had to wait another week for fitter to come back, My husband took time off work then at the last minute the fitter rang to say he couldn't make it. so had to wait again and take more time off when he eventually came. Noticed a scratch on the cooker hood so rang the store (Huddersfield) I spoke to a lady called Chloe who was very rude and refused to help, she said I couldn't prove they had sent it damaged and put the phone down on me. I spoke to a lady in customer services who sorted it out for me. The edging of the work surface had slight damage, customer services was not going to do anything about it at first but then offered to supply me with another work worktop providing I paid again for it fitting. This I refused. Eventually they got a company out to repair it. Excellent repair but again my husband had to take more time off. The window sill was edged in chrome but was badly done, I sent photos to customer services who said they would get the fitter to ring me and come back out to sort it. (husband going to have to take more time off) The fitter did not ring. I spoke to customer services again who assure me he would ring that day, guess what he didn't ring. I have now had enough of Wickes so rang again to be told the fitter is busy but will be in touch some time this week. It is now 15th March 2018 and my kitchen is not complete and I have no idea when it will be finished. The lady in customer services was not very helpful telling me they had been back to sort stuff and I had not had to pay the fitter for coming back. What a stupid statement, I have already paid the fitters, not my fault if things were sent damaged and wrong. After spending over £10,000 with this company they have offered me the measly sum of £100 compensation upped to £150 when I refused. My husband lost more than that due to time off. They have given me a number to ring The Furniture Ombudsman which I am going to do. I would not recommended this company to anyone, absolute nightmare. They take your money then don't care.
